WE’RE HIRING | QC ENGINEER

International Pipe Industry Company (IPIC) is looking for a detail-oriented QC Engineer to join its Quality Control Team.

Location Eligibility:
Applicants must be residents of Port Said or Damietta.

JOB SUMMARY

The QC Engineer will be responsible for safely implementing the approved Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), monitoring inspection activities, and controlling the quality of IPIC’s steel pipes to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications within approved schedules and budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensure that welding processes are carried out in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and review the related periodic reports.

* Monitor visual inspection activities after welding to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and codes.

* Investigate the root causes of welding defects and coordinate with the relevant departments to eliminate them and prevent recurrence.

* Oversee the proper execution of hydrostatic tests for each pipe in accordance with approved specifications and codes.

* Review hydrostatic pressure charts and verify compliance with the required acceptance criteria.

* Supervise Ultrasonic Testing (UT) activities and ensure that the inspection results comply with the applicable acceptance criteria.

* Evaluate indications and defects identified on Radiographic Testing (RT) films and prepare the required reports.

* Ensure that product repair processes are carried out in compliance with approved procedures, specifications, and codes.

* Prepare quality inspection reports and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for products or processes that do not comply with the required specifications and standards.

* Conduct awareness and training sessions for QC Inspectors on applicable specifications, codes, inspection procedures, and other quality-related matters.

* Issue Material Issue Slips for the required inspection consumables.

QUALIFICATIONS

* B.Sc. in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.

* Up to 3 years of relevant experience as a QC Engineer within the steel pipe, piping, or steel fabrication industry.

* Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.

* Ability to work effectively within a team.

* Good communication skills.

* NDT certification or qualification is considered an advantage.
